Meeting weekly for 28 weeks, Community Day begins with the Morning Assembly, uniting the Primary and Secondary programs through Scripture devotion, worship, and family presentation. The Primary program then proceeds into two programs: New Grammar (morning) and English Language Arts (afternoon).

New Grammar — Morning Program (Ages 4-12)

Students engage in five core components:

New Grammar Memory Work

Weekly interactive lessons in nine strands: Math, History, Latin, Science, English, Timeline, Geography, Bible, and Hymns. Families extend this learning at home.

Science

Hands-on experiments and cross-subject connections from a biblical worldview.

Fine Arts

Study of great artists and composers through projects and music theory.

Presentation

PreK-1st share freely in show-and-tell style; 2nd-6th present on assigned topics, building confidence and communication skills.

Capstone:

Students celebrate their achievements with the Memory Master or Subject Master Awards for full mastery of grammar material.

English Language Arts — Afternoon Program (Ages 9-12)

Designed for 4th-6th graders, ELA develops excellence in grammar and writing. While 2nd-3rd graders do not have an official afternoon program, parents are encouraged to coordinate a Parent-Led Language Art Time using the LTCCC-provided resources.

The program includes:

Fundamentals of Grammar - Study of English grammar, editing practice, and diagramming sentences.

History-Based Writing (IEW) - Writing structure and style integrated with history cycles.

Math Drills - Playing math games that calculate simple to complex math equations based on the order of operations to strengthen students’ speed and accuracy.

Capstone: Character Chronicles - students research, write, and present as a historical figure, bringing learning to life.
